AIU Displays Accomplishments
Sep 4th, 2007
No one likes a bragger. But, reading about an online school's accomplishments can help a student decide whether or not to enroll. That's why I was intrigued by American Intercontinental University's new AIU Outcomes Site. Their site is designed share their virtual victories with the world.
Here's a blurb:
"One of the reasons our graduation and employment rates are so high is that at AIU Online, we support our students all the way. And we seek their feedback so we'll know if we're doing everything we can to make their experience at AIU Online the best it can be. In 2007 surveys, we asked students to rate us in several areas and we're very proud of what they told us. Of those who responded, 89% of them said they were satisfied with their overall experience at AIU Online and 79% told us they would recommend an instructor to a friend. That's high praise from the people we value most."
The praise is obviously one-sided. Yet, I think it's a good idea for online schools to toot their own horns a little. So, go ahead, show us your accomplishments. Then, let the students decide.
