Columbia Teachers College to Offer Online Master’s Degree
Jul 13th, 2007
For the first time this fall, Columbia Teacher's College is offering an online Master's degree program in Computing and Education. The online master's program may be a good choice for current teachers interested in earning a higher degree while enrolled in a renowned teaching university. Here's a blurb about the new program from the Columbia Teacher's College website:
"We want to be absolutely certain that in any distance learning experience offered by TC, the content and the experience are every bit as rich as they would be in the classroom," says Interim Dean Bill Baldwin. "The Computing in Education program is a good way to test the waters, both because the medium fits the message, and because many of the necessary elements were already in place. By taking them online, we're building on the intellectual capital of the faculty and the dynamic potential of the technology itself."
The Columbia Teachers College Online master's degree is a collaboration between the teaching college's Department of Math, Science and Technology, Center for Technology and School Change, and Center for Educational Outreach and Innovation.
